Out & About – Week of July 12

Plenty of time to myself at home this week while my husband and his friends enjoy their motorcycle tour of northern Ontario.

On Monday, I spent my morning at Jackpot Time Bingo in Sarnia helping raise fund for the Moore Optimist Club.  Helping with bingo sure isn’t what it used to be!  No smoke, selling tickets, calling numbers or running between games.

In the afternoon, the Council meeting kept me occupied.  If you want to see the Council meetings but can’t join in person, be sure to check them out anytime on You Tube: Township of St. Clair Township – Council Meetings.

I still work a little and created bouquets at The Funny Farm- Farm Fresh Cut Flowers.  Once a florist, always a florist.

My week continued by attending another candidate information, had a Corunna Foodbank Meeting and polished my speaking skills at a Toastmasters meeting.

Last but not least, I learned about Kimchi at the Point Edward Library.  Thanks to my friend Lo-anne, I now know that this fermented (not pickled) cabbage and vegetable condiment is a super food!

Be sure to get a library card and visit often in person or online to experience some great seminars and workshops.  Libraries are more than books!

Although I wasn’t able to attend, I want to congratulate those recognized by the Lambton Federation of Agriculture on Sat. July 18, 2026. Warwick’s Birnam Orchards, Wyoming’s Scott Helps and the late Tom Lassaline of Alvinston were inducted into the Lambton Agriculture Hall of Fame.
